This tutorial will teach you the basic architectural modeling and working with Editable Poly. This tutorial is strictly for those which opening the Autodesk 3ds max first time or frightened with the number of buttons and options in 3ds Max, but in the beginning you will only use some of them.
Before we start working, we’ll set some parameters in program preferences, so there would be no errors while working. From main toolbar select Customize – Preferences. Thank on Viewports tab, select Backface Cull on object Creation. This will prevent some weird orientation of faces of your object later. I suggest you to keep this option always turned on when working in 3ds Max.
The first thing you see are 4 viewports that let you see your object from different sides. Right-click each viewport that you want to work with. The selected viewport will be highlighted.
